ISPM15
ISPM15 (International Standard for phytosanitary Measures) is an international regulation that was introduced into the timber packaging industry in 2005 Developed by the IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention), the core purpose of this legislation is to regulate the control and spread of forest pests and timber diseases that could negatively affect plant life and ecosystems.
Timber must be heat treated 56° for a minimum of 30 minutes in order to comply with the ISPM 15 standard.
These processes must be carried out by companies licensed under the UK Wood Packaging Material Marking Programme. Approved Companies lie us are issued with a license and reassessed every six months to ensure compliance. Products produced by licensed manufacturers are stamped with a ‘wheat stamp’ mark of compliance to prove they conform to standards. We also add our own custom stamp so that the packing timber can be traced back to us. In addition to meeting these standards, all out timber materials are sourced from sustainable sources.
Countries that require these measures include the United Kingdom, all EU member states, the USA, Canada, Australia and China.
